About Designer Heidi Damata:

I have always fostered a love of all artistic expression, be it as a performer, a designer or a patron. I spent much of my younger years performing in musicals and singing with my parents, and always felt very drawn to the visual arts, primarily fashion, decorating and styling, and painting. My degree is in Art History, and I pursued additional education in fashion, interior design and event management, and later took classes in painting, sewing and jewelry making. I designed events for the hospitality industry in Denver and managed non-profit events and fundraisers while living in Washington D.C. and San Francisco. While in the SF-Bay Area, I was inspired to leave the non-profit world and found a position managing a women-centered art gallery in the Bay Area. I was thrilled when the opportunity arose for me to return to the Denver area to create my own art sanctuary, Soulrise Gallery, which showcased sacred art created by women and offered workshops and events promoting art as a spiritual practice. After more than a year in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District, I departed from gallery life to bring my son Rio into the world and to explore new depths of personal creativity. The free spirit of my gallery and the belief in the transformative power of color and beauty continues to live on in my own creations, Soulrise Designs.

Soulrise Designs are handcrafted using fabric, painted wood, beads, ribbons, metal and lots of color, all combined to create eclectic, wearable art. Most of the pieces include hand painted and/or hand sewn elements. Although Soulrise Designs may be big and bold, they are surprisingly wearable and can make any outfit fun and unique. Many of the necklaces and neckpieces are more like another layer of clothing than a piece of jewelry. Since many of the pieces include fabric, bright colors and patterns, they can be added to your wardrobe and become statement pieces or accents like shawls or scarves. Each piece can define, transform, or even create an outfit. Adorn your free spirit and feel your soul rise!
